Polls Polls and More Polls

So here we have it. There were two polls released yesterday....one saying that the Govs race had tightened, the other, done by an Arkansas pollster who had yet to poll the race showed a wide gap between Asa and Beebe.

As could be predicted, the right wing nutjob bloggers immediately attacked the credibility of the pollster that had Beebe up. This certianly has become their modus operandi any time they read somthing they dont like.

Do we think there is a 21 point spread in this race? Probably not. But the pollsters are able to defend their methodology thats for sure. And it should also be noted, that way back in 2002, when they polled Hutchinson - Pryor that they nailed the race dead on. Dead on. Even though the republicans were spouting internal polling numbers that the swore the race was razor thin. That just didnt turn out to be the case, now did it.

We are looking forward to see what the defender of all things republican, David Sanders, has to say about this poll. We certianly hope he talks about it in great detail, as the more times it is mentioned that Asa is 21 points behind the better.

As for the Rasmussan poll, well ok its another poll. The big difference as we see it is that Oakleaf had real, live people making the calls, not a computer. That must play some role in the credibility, dont ya think?

Republican Spin Cycle

Ok folks, they have been hard at it. It's pretty darn interesting actually, the amount of BS that these guys are putting out there. And the help they have is unbelievable! Where to start, where to start. Well, first theres the Republican mouthpiece David Sanders. In a recent column, he talks about Mike Beebes new TV ads and in the article says two things that i would question. First, he mentions that it was first predicted in the local blogosphere that Mike Beebe would go up on TV soon as a result of the new low "poll" numbers that had Beebe neck and neck with Asa.

Well its actually a pretty slick spin move. But hes no Chris Angel. I mean, with all the money that Beebe had it was logical that he was building the war chest to, oh I dont know, SPEND IT ON TV ADS. Beebes 2-1 cash advantage allowed him to go on the air earlier. By him getting on the air earlier--much earlier-- than Asa, it will help him get his message out there and help solidify his support. Its common sense campaign strategy, not fear.

Now, Ill mention this but do i really need to? For a Republican Flack to attack ANYONE about a campaign commercial being untruthful REEKS of hypocrisy. Where to even start...Swift Boat? The crap ads they ran against Max Cleland? Its really sad the legnths that these guys are going to to discredit a good man. But then again, I guess they are really that scared.

Amazing

These wackos on the other side (see Republican nutjobs) crack me up. Over at http://fourcheriverpossumstomp.blogspot.com/ the author takes Beebe to task over his proposal to increase the Homestead tax exemption.

Does anyone else see this as a bit short sighted? I mean, what about those tax refunds that Pres bush handed out? Does anyone remember what they spent that 300 bucks on? Werent all of these same arguements used by people who were against the refunds? Just checking.

And while im laughing at them, why in the world are they going after Bruce Burrow....a man who has given Tens of thousands to the Republican party and their candidates? Are they attacking him just because he isnt siding with Asa? One would think that a fat cat republican donor would have bought a little more support than that, but, apparently not. Then again, they probably jst dont get it.

Quote of the day

Over at ArkFam i had to laugh out loud today when i read this...

"The President is great and will attract a crowd, but hosting it at Joe Kleine's house is a stroke of genius."

The President is great. WOW, guys thats impressive. You must reeaaallly like the guy. I can't imagine the fun it must be being a 30%er.
